Born in Ivanska, Bosnia he came to call Canada his home in 1948 and married Marlene in 1953, the girl he fought for. He always told us that he took one look at her and said "That's the girl I am going to marry". Dad worked as a carpenter, fibreglass mould-maker among other things, a "jack of all trades", he was. He retired from Frank Fair Industries in 1993. "Ivan the Terrible", his own name for himself, was a strong, kind and giving man. He loved to have people around him, thus the many pig roast parties he and Marlene loved to host. He would always say, "A man can have all the money in the world but will never be as rich as I am", meaning having his family around him, which was the case the night before he passed. He leaves behind his loving wife Marlene, of 62 years; his children, Timothy, Mariann, Anthony (Cathy), Robert (Toni), Verna (Bernie), Jeffrey (Sandy) and their families, which includes 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many relatives in Europe. As per his wishes, there will be no service held, just a gathering of family. You leave your suffering behind Dad, and we will always remember your huge heart at times when we needed you. Go fishing and catch the big one! Donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society or The Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
