ROSALIE (ROSE) JULIANNA SNYDER (nee KULL) October 16, 1915 to July 19, 2006 With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Rose Snyder surrounded by loving family at Concordia Hos pital. Predeceased in 19 59 by husban d Eric Hans Snyder(Schn eider); siblings, Phillip, Elsie, Andrew and Anna; and many friends. Fifth of seven children of Gustav and Emma (Janke) Kull, Rose lived her long and full life in Elmwood. Surviving her and cherishing her memory are children, Eric (Helen)of Ottawa, Robert (Leslie) and their children Jonathon and Stephan; sister Tina (Val) Kauk; brother Ernie (Eileen); large extended family; and many friends. Our eternal gratitude to the entire staff at Concordia Hospital 3W for their excellentcare and service, with extra-special thanks to nurses Laura and Naomi, constantly there for Rose and her family in her final hours. Cremation has taken place; memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, at Holy CrossLutheran Church, Grey and McCalman in Elmwood. Private family interment at Elmwood Cemetery at later date. Predeceased by parents Gustav and Emma (Janke)�� �Kull; siblings Phillip, Andrew, Elsie, Anna and Rose; grandchildren Ryan and Amy; mother-in-law Nora (Taman) McGregor; and his fishing buddy Bert McGregor. On the day of his passing he had celebrated 61 years of marriage to his surviv ing wifeEileen. Ernie is survived by his sister Tina Kauk. He is also survived by his loving family; daughter Linda (Eric) Stearns and children Eric, Kevin (Serena) and Tim, and grandchild Augustus; daughter Noraleen (Terry) Bertrand and children Tammy(Brian), Krista (Mike) and Sharon (Trevor), and grandchildren Justin, Brayden, Madilyn, Kelvin and Eliot; son Ernest (Melodie) and children Jason, Jennifer �� �(Paul) and Jeff (Carrie), and grandchildren Kayla, Preston, Megan, Christina, Zacharyand Jordan; son Murray (Darlene) and children Kerri, Jamie and Frank (Corinne), and grandchildren Keenyn, Khelyn, Er ik and Kristin; daughter Penny (Herman) Dettman and child Cameron; son Martin (Julia) and children Jamie Leigh, Matthew, Jess,Stella and Eva; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Up until the time of his stroke in F ebruary 2006 Ernie lived his entire active life in Elmwood. He was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he was baptized, attendedschool, confirmed, was married and sang in the choir. He worked for over 40 years at the Co-Op Implem ents factory until his retirement on his 65th birthday. During his early working days he took a leave and enlisted in Canada's armed forces andserved with pride as a Sergeant in the Canadian Light Infantry from 1942 to 1946. It is during this time of service that he met another enlistee, Eileen Mae Taman, and they were married on December 29, 1945. Their marital journey lasted 61years and produced a loving family of 6 children, 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Ernie loved his f amily dearly and was a remarkable role model to all. His unique lessons of life and sense of humour have become a family legacy andwill be passed down for generations. Ernie also loved his music, his fishing and was very active in a variety of spo rts throughout his life, and right up until the time of his stroke he was a regular at Chateau Bowling lanes, in spite of hisloss of vision. His physically active lifestyle was the envy of his family. Ernie touched all our hearts in a very special way and will be deeply and sadly missed but never forgotten. A very special and heartfelt thank you to the staff of Lodge6 at Deer Lodge Centre for the excellent care and support they provided to Ernie and his family, and in particular to Hermie who gave him such comfort with her songs and devotions.
