Remaining toforever cherish Peggy's memory are her two sons who were the sunshine of her life: Bruce (Ellen) and Glen (Wendy) and her sister Florence Yakel. Nancy, as she was known to all of her grandchildren, will be dearly missed by Carrie (Dale), Garth(Robyn), Liz (John), Alex, Glennis (Brad), Cameron (Britt), Murray (Sarah); her great-grandchildren Jennifer (Jon), Jason (Maggie), Brittany, Quinn, Courtney, Megan, Jordyn, CJ, Delaney, Emily, Katie, Jack, Brandon, Taylor, Parker, Will, Nicola,Emmanuelle and Charlotte; her great-great-grandchildren Rebekah and Hannah. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, grandson Thomas Peter, brother Peter, sister Ruth and brother-in-law Alex. Peggy was born to Jessie and Peter Gray, two Scottishimmigrants, and the family settled in the West Kildonan area. She began working at the very young age of 14 as a seamstress, managed Strains Camera Store in Polo Park for 30 years and retired at age 76 from The Bay, K.P. camera dept. Determinedand resourceful are two words directly connected to Peggy. Being very artistic; Peggy's sewing skills meant many clothes and items made for all of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Christmastime was full of so many gifts foreveryone. Her parcel sent to Vancouver every year was always stuffed to the brim, with sometimes a pair of scissors or roll of tape packed in by accident. Auntie Peg had a special place in her heart for her niece Marnie, and nephews Kent and Donand their families. If Peggy had her way, a family gathering would be every day. Her final two years were spent at Park Manor Personal Care Home where she was looked after with great care and love. Her family thanks all the staff and nurses atPark Manor Personal Care Home. God loves you all and so do we. A private celebration to honour her memory will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peggy's memory to Park Manor Personal Care Home Building Fund,301 Redonda St., Winnipeg, MB R2C 1L7. |
