Note | I found a Fred Presser in the 1906 Canadian Census: http://data6.archives.ca/lizardtech/iserv/getdoc?cat=sid&img=e/e049/e001206800.sid It shows in the information that the location was Central Avenue. If I go through some other pages close to it, I find Castle Avenue (amongst other names I don't recognize. David Yakel has a listing for Fred Presser who lived at 610 Talbot. Can anyone confirm that this is Orval's father (or whatever relation)? If this is his father, how was it that Orval was born in St. Paul, MN????? Verna thinks that he was Adopted. Any other opinions? |
Note | From David Yakel, 2021-04-20 "Ellen Bancroft says that Orval Harold Presser was adopted through a Minneapolis lady by Gottfried and Philippine. Ellen says that Gottfied and Philippine Presser boarded the pastor of Holy Cross in those days and the pastor arranged for the adoption. Ellen doesn't know how adoptions worked in those days, or even if there was an actual one. Gottfried and Philippine never had their own biological kids. " |
